ADVERTISEMENT FOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the purpose of selecting a Landscape Architect for the proposed UCLA Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden Amphitheater Renovation (Project No.907130.01). The botanical garden is in the southeast portion of the main campus at 707 Tiverton Drive, just south of the La Kretz Pavilion and Botany Building. It is a 7.5-acre public garden, outdoor classroom, and research facility that promotes botanical knowledge by curating collections that highlight biogeography, conservation, and natural history. The Garden aims to foster environmental and cultural appreciation of plants and their connection to society through education, research, and public outreach. The beautiful setting fosters health and tranquility for the community.

This RFQ is to acquire a consultant team consisting of a prime Landscape Architect and their sub-consultants to renovate the amphitheater.

Renovations will include both site and program improvements. The amphitheater is used for both teaching and events. Upgrades include improving ADA access to the site, increasing seating capacity, installing poured concrete with wood seat tops and seat backs, enhancing drainage, providing electrical for lighting and outlets, constructing DG walkways and retaining walls, a stage, and addressing acoustic considerations.

Construction costs are estimated at 1.6 million, and the scope may be prioritized or phased to align with available funds. The project's implementation depends on funding availability.

The final selection and appointment of the architect for the proposed project are contingent upon approval of the project by the University of California Board of Regents or its designated authority, and in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

The selection committee will base its review of the Landscape Architect's submitted proposals and selection on the identified Selection Criteria (Attachment A). This RFQ is for full design services; however, the University reserves the right to defer negotiations concerning services other than pre-design studies until the completion of the pre-design phase.

The design shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices concerning green building design and energy efficiency. The project must meet the California Energy Code (Title 24) energy efficiency standards and incorporate sustainability principles into the renovated building's systems, components, and portions. The design shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices to achieve a minimum LEEDTM Gold Rating.

The complete RFQ packet will be available at http://www.uclaplanroom.com on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Responses to the RFQ are due by or before 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. ADVERTISEMENT FOR CONSULTANT

The University of California, Los Angeles, requests written responses to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select Parking Consultants to assess UCLA parking structures and lots and to develop a long-range Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for UCLA Parking Service. The inventory of parking structures and/or lots will be assigned to the selected consultant(s) based on an established priority order over the term of the agreement, which may be up to three years in duration, managed by UCLA Facilities Management.

Under the direction of UCLA Facilities Management, the Parking Consultant will conduct comprehensive condition assessments of existing parking facilities in the UCLA parking inventory. The consultant will identify and prioritize any necessary improvements for each facility and assist the University in developing a phased project implementation plan. The consultant will also provide cost estimates to assist the University in establishing capital improvement budgets.

UCLA will award up to two Parking Consultant professional service agreements. UCLA reserves the right to assign the awarded consultant(s) to the project for which they are most qualified based on experience.

The final selection and appointment of the Parking Consultant(s) is contingent upon project approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority. This RFQ is for parking consulting services; any services other than efforts to develop a long-range CIP will be negotiated under separate agreements. The selection committee will base its review of the submitted proposals and selection on the identified Selection Criteria (Attachment A) to determine a shortlist of consultants. Further steps in the selection process will be at the discretion of the selection committee.
