Projects Under Environmental Review
The following projects are currently engaged in the environmental review process.
As noted in the Environmental Review Timeline located below the project summary,
draft environmental documents for these projects, including Initial Studies and
Environmental Impact Reports, may be viewed by the public online or at a designated
public location as they become available to facilitate public disclosure and provide
the opportunity for public comment. Each project listed has a brief summary, California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review timeline, and links to published environmental

901 Levering Student Housing |
Description |
901 LEVERING STUDENT HOUSING PROJECT Notice of Intent (NOI) to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration The proposed Project involves the construction of an approximately 310,000 square foot (SF), 19-story student housing building for UCLA undergraduate students on an approximately 0.74-acre Project site located at 901 Levering Avenue adjacent to the UCLA campus. Five existing University-owned two- and three-level apartment buildings with 42 units and 52 beds, totaling 23,952 SF, would be demolished. The proposed Project would provide up to 1,150 beds within a combination of one-, two-, three, and primarily four-bedroom units. The proposed Project would include common courtyard and terrace areas oriented towards Levering Avenue, as well as a lobby/lounge, office, laundry facilities, a mail/package room, a vending area, an outdoor covered fitness area, bicycle parking, and study rooms. There would also be spaces for housekeeping and maintenance, mechanical equipment, and trash collection. On-site vehicular parking for residents and guests would not be provided. A loading/parking area accessed from Levering Avenue would provide two parking spaces for service vehicles, deliveries, and trash removal. Pedestrian access to the proposed building would be provided from a main entry courtyard on Levering Avenue and from a secondary entrance on Level 4 at Weyburn Place. New utilities would be installed onsite and would connect to existing utility infrastructure surrounding the site. The Project would achieve at minimum a LEED Gold rating and strive for a Platinum rating. Earthwork necessary for building construction would require excavation to a maximum depth of approximately 52.5 feet, as measured from the Weyburn Place elevation, and require the net export of approximately 60,900 cubic yards of soil. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026, with completion in 2030.An Initial Study (IS) for the proposed Project has been prepared. Based upon the analysis presented in the IS, it has been determined that with the incorporation of mitigation measures, the proposed Project will not have a significant effect on the environment. Pursuant to the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines, a 30-day public review period extended from November 12 through December 12, 2025. Additionally, a virtual public meeting regarding the Project was held on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Details and the meeting registration link were in the NOI (available below). 5210 Pacific Concourse Dr. Tenant Improvements |
Description |
UCLA HEALTH SPORTS MEDICINE INSTITUTE PROJECT (5210 PACIFIC CONCOURSE TENANT IMPROVEMENTS) Notice of Intent (NOI) to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration The proposed Project involves the adaptive reuse of an existing approximately 170,000-gross-square-foot (gsf) two-story life sciences building located at 5210 Pacific Concourse Drive in unincorporated Los Angeles County (County). The proposed Project would create a new Sports Medicine Institute, relocate an off-campus UCLA Health Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, and include a community fill pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, café, conference room, administrative offices, storage, and other support spaces. In addition to the tenant improvements for these uses, the proposed Project includes improvements to the building mechanical and utility systems, accessibility improvements, safety and security upgrades, new electric vehicle chargers, and minor modifications to the existing landscaping and surface parking. The Project would achieve at minimum a LEED ID+C Certified rating and would strive to achieve a LEED Gold rating. Earthwork necessary for utility trenching and limited grading would generally be on the order of a few inches to a few feet, but not be deeper than approximately 7 feet, and would require the net export of approximately 150 cubic yards of soil. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026, with completion in 2028.An Initial Study (IS) for the proposed Project has been prepared. Based upon the analysis presented in the IS, it has been determined that with the incorporation of mitigation measures, the proposed Project will not have a significant effect on the environment. Pursuant to the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines, a 30-day public review period will extend from November 21 through December 22, 2025. Additionally, a virtual public meeting regarding the Project will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Details and the meeting registration link are in the NOI (available below).
